It takes the player to an underwater base called PATHOS II, which is full of hacked machines with a dark secret. Comparisons to Bioschock are inevitable, but SOMA is more traumatic and extremely shocking from an ethical point of view, especially in that it uses elements of metaphysics to induce nightmares.
