The Last of Us Part I: Video Shows New Motion Created for the Remake

Neil Druckman talks about the importance of updating the game with new technologies

Naughty Dog released a A new video showing the motion capture of the cast of The Last of Us Part I. Neil Druckman, the game’s director, talks about the importance of updating the motion capture technology in this remake.

The The Last of Us Part I This is a remake, so everything is redone, as stated in the announcement trailer shown at Summer Game Fest. “Since then, our technology has advanced so much in facial fidelity,” said Druckmann, and he emphasizes how much this affects the emotion of the scene.

Some of the changes really didn’t sit well with the fans, like the change Tess went through that completely changed the character. There are already some comparisons to the original PS3 version with the remake trailers released so far, showing that the characters and scenarios are no longer the same.

Naughty Dog had a hard time keeping the game a secret. Last month, some snippets of The Last of Us Part I were leaked. Faced with the situation, the developer decided to release a new trailer to alleviate the situation. That’s not happening at the studio today, as the ending of The Last of Us Part II was even leaked before launch.
