The Japanese want Final Fantasy XVI for PC after the PlayStation 5 price hike

The console there has not only become more expensive, but also has low availability.

Sony announced a few days ago that it is raising the price of the PlayStation 5 in several countries, including Japan. Disgruntled, the Japanese players took to Twitter to complain. But not only that, they also want to port Final Fantasy XVI, one of the most anticipated games out there, to PC.

As a Twitter user Aitaikimochi shows that Square Enix’s next big title has become a hot topic on Twitter in Japan.

Two factors have fueled this outrage among Japanese gamers: the rising price of the console itself and the difficulty of finding a PS5 there. It is not today, in fact for a long time, that it is impossible to find a Sony console in the homeland.

Increasing the value of the PS5 was no small feat there. The console was priced at 49,980 yen (about $366 USD) at launch, and is now 60,478 yen (about $450 USD). News from Famitsu, one of Japan’s largest gaming media outlets, Posted on Twitter There are several responses from the Japanese that they are giving up and will switch to another platform.

“Hmm, I can buy the latest Core i5-12400F + RTX 3050 PC if I pay 90,000 (yen) more,” said one Twitter user. This is just one of over 1,300 comments from disgruntled Japanese players.
