The 5 best PS5 games to enjoy on PS Plus Extra

The PS Plus Extra plan offers subscribers a few PS4 and PS5 games, but the vast majority are last-gen games. Of course, a PS5 owner can enjoy all of them, but if you’re interested in taking advantage of the new generation, there are a few games you should check out.

Before starting the list, note that any game will run better on the PlayStation 5 (especially Sony games like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut, for example). Listed here are games that are either exclusive to the platform, or that are so much better than PS4 that they deserve to be played again.

We’ve only featured 5 PS5 titles here (there are more games than that in PS Plus Extra), but that being said, there they are.

1 – Demon Souls

Demon’s Souls can be considered a game that made a generational leap and graphically demonstrated what the PS5 is capable of, aside from technical points such as absurdly low load. Demon’s Souls is a Bluepoint remake of the PS3 game of the same name by FromSoftware. This is a game that simply cannot be left out of this list.

2 – return

Another PS5 exclusive (so far), Returnal is a game developed by Housemarque, who rose to fame with shooter titles like Super Stardust and Resogun. Still with an arcade feel and mixed with rogue-like elements, you control the astronaut Selene. After crash-landing on a volatile alien planet, Selene finds herself fighting tooth and nail to survive. He is repeatedly defeated and is forced to restart his journey with each death.

3 – Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla technically runs better on PS5, and since loading is minimal, it’s almost a different experience. In AC Valhalla, become Ivor, a legendary Viking raider on a quest for glory. Explore the Dark Ages of England as you attack your enemies, expand your settlement and strengthen your political power.

4 – NBA 2K22

Play/2K games

NBA 2K22 Next Generation is simply amazing graphically. Although the game is full of microtransactions, there is solid gameplay and different modes. It’s a good hobby if you don’t mind soul-crushing ways. It’s worth noting that PC continues to receive the PS4 and Xbox One versions to this day. That is, if you check it on a computer, don’t take it as a basis.

5 – Control: Ultimate Edition

If you’ve played Control on PS4, you know that the title’s performance isn’t the best, mainly because of all the destruction that occurs in the scenario. The PS5 version improves on this a lot, in addition to offering a unique experience with DualSense. Created by Remedy Entertainment, players control Jesse Fadden in a place known as “The Old House”, a place that defies the laws of space and time. Jesse arrives at this location, which is controlled by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, looking for his younger brother Dylan. It’s a simplistic Metroidvania with great third-person shooter gameplay and fun mechanics, but with a surreal story.
