Sony is asking for photos or videos of its pet reacting to Stray for a charity campaign

The text below was published on PlayStation.Blog.

With the release of Stray this July, we saw the PlayStation community fall in love with BlueTwelve Studio’s realistic feline protagonist. But it wasn’t just gamers who were fascinated by the feline physics and button-mashing technology of Meow – their pets loved it too! We’ve seen real reactions on social media as cats and dogs run across the screen wondering how a very real-looking cat got there.

With the excitement in mind, we reached out to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) to see how we could turn player support for this beloved indie cat game into support for real pets. Along with a $25,000 donation to the organization, we’d like to create a digital photo book of your pets that share your love for the stray.

We are also pleased to announce a new social media initiative called stray reactions. See how it works:

How to participate

From now until September 23, 2022, players will only share photos or videos of their cat, dog or other pet reacting or posing next to a Stray game on PlayStation on Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #.StrayReactions.*

At the end of this submission window, we’ll select our curious videos of adorable kittens and tail-wagging photos from a digital photo book to present to the ASPCA along with $25,000. We’ll also include a few posts in the roll that we’ll share on our blog and social channels.

It’s that simple! We look forward to playing with your pets as a stray.

*By posting a photo or video with the hashtag #StrayReactions on Twitter or Instagram between now and September 23rd, you agree that Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC may use the content (including your social media username) as described in this post and the ASPCA for the promotion of and the #StrayReactions campaign. Posts must comply with the Instagram and Twitter Terms of Service (as applicable). This promotion is not affiliated with, sponsored, endorsed or administered by Instagram or Twitter.
