The game follows the events of A Plague Tale: Innocence, 6 months after the previous game, in the middle of the 14th century. The brothers Amicia and Hugo now find themselves in the south of France, in Provence, far from wars and diseases like the bite. Accompanied by his mother Beatrice and apprentice alchemist Lucas, the group has peace until the curse in Hugo’s blood, Prima Macula, awakens. The deeper he goes, the closer he gets to death. The only solution will be to search for a mysterious island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea that is clearly calling to him.

During the journey, the characters will once again be chased by the Inquisition, in addition to the hordes of rats that appear in dark places. According to the developers, the mice will use the power of the new generation of consoles to look like waves or tsunamis that invade the scenarios. Throughout the story, the characters will also face dilemmas, such as Amicia, who has become a more suitable warrior but violent and vengeful, and Hugo, who still has no control over his powers.
The core of the game remains a stealth-focused third-person adventure game, but with more action elements in combat to let players decide how they want to confront their enemies. Areas are also more open and less linear than in the first title.
Users who don’t want to be detected can slide under furniture such as tables, and the new stealth kill can be used to sneak up on an enemy from behind. As your adventure progresses, you’ll be able to learn new skills, stealth or offensive, to complement your play style.

From Tales of Plague: In addition to her reliable shooting range of innocence, Amicia will also have a crossbow weapon that can be used for quick executions from afar. Both can use alchemy-crafted ammunition for effects such as smoke bombs or flammable liquids that can set enemies on fire. The crossbow can also fire a string of arrows to solve puzzles.
Hugo now has some new powers, such as “Echo”, which allows him to see enemies through walls by sensing the pulsation of their blood, just like rats do. He can also summon hordes to eliminate opponents, just like in the final moments of the first game. As in the original, there are still sequences where the characters need to escape from certain dangers.
On PC, A Plague Tale: Requiem will support many advanced technologies, including ray tracing for better lighting and higher contrast levels. The game will also support Nvidia’s new DLSS 3 technology for better performance at high resolutions. It will also be possible to use the previous version DLSS 2.
