Philips announces Evnia, a new line of gaming monitors and peripherals

The gaming industry is not that young, from its simplest days in the late 70s to today, games have followed the rapid evolution of digital technology to become not only a form of entertainment but an experience. A truly immersive sensory experience with powerful appeal. .

It’s clear that all this evolution must continue with devices that can deliver to gamers what developers hope to show in their games, which is why gamers today can count on a large range of products focused on this activity and Philips. Announced at a global event in Paris at the iconic Stade de France, it will soon bring another gaming line to market: Evnia.

what is eunia

The word eunia (Greek: Ε?νοια) is composed of eu (good) and nous (mind), meaning something like “good mind” and “clever thinking”. Eunia is used as a word to express an interest in supporting and protecting someone or something.

But we know Philips is already very present here in Brazil with gamers under the Egon By AOC brand, so what will the Dutch giant’s aim be with the new line of gamers? To answer this question, we spoke to TPV’s Director of Marketing and Product, Bruno Morari.

According to Morar, the launch of Evnia comes to create a new ecosystem for gamers. Instead of bringing more of the same to a gaming market that continues to grow, we spent a lot of time thinking about what to do differently and put together something outside of the norm, with a differentiated design, an escape from hardcore, a mix. technology. Thus, we are creating a new ecosystem in this pillar of innovation.”

Today, the definition of a typical gamer is more diverse than ever – however, the stereotype that gaming is only for teenagers remains the norm. Morar comments that this is a point that Philips has put a lot of thought into with the new line. He explains that Evnia is different from aggressive models based only on hardcore gamers and technical features. They don’t stop looking for monitors and peripherals that satisfy them while gaming.

“The big appeal is the design, the escape from the ordinary, the aggressive gaming design, the black red and we’re going for a standout design, you can use these monitors and peripherals for both gaming and everyday use. Without losing the benefits of high definition and the latest panel, in addition to our exclusive Ambiglow technology, which offers more immersion while playing,” the director informs.

The new line of monitors will feature technologies such as Quad HD panels, 4K and miniaturized technology that uses miniature lighting and can use more than 1,000 Full Array Local Dimming (FALD) zones that enhance contrast. In addition to these well-known technologies, Philips wants to be the first in Brazil to launch a product with Quantum Dot Oled technology, which according to Morar is a new filter that works better with the blue color and provides better color quality and improves the small drawback of Oled panels: brightness.

The Evnia range is more than monitors. Anyone who wants a complete setup of the products in this line will have mice, keyboards, mouse pads and headsets, all with Ambiglow technology and controlled by a single software that brings everything together.

Eunia series

Evnia will be divided into three products, the entry-level 3000 series, the intermediate 5000 series and the 7000-8000 series, which are the high-end products of the new line. So we can expect a very diverse range of products, which also means a big difference in prices between each other.
