Overwatch 2 runs at 500+ FPS at 1440p with GeForce RTX 4090

Activision Blizzard has revealed Overwatch 2’s FPS limit is 600

Overwatch 2 players will be able to run the new Blizzard game at over 500 FPS at 1440p resolution with the GeForce RTX 4090.. In an official blog post, Nvidia revealed the performance details of the title on the manufacturer’s high-end GPUs.

Those with a high-end Nvidia graphics card will be able to push over 500 FPS, according to Nvidia at 507 FPS, with the game running at 1440p.Provides high-quality gaming enjoyment and maximum performance of Blizzard’s new game.

The number is very close to what Activision Blizzard has determined as the maximum FPS for Overwatch 2. That’s because the publisher revealed that gamers max out at 600 FPS, which puts Nvidia’s GPU through the roof a bit.

Nvidia reported that the settings provide professional gamers with the best experience when playing Overwatch 2. However, many players choose not to max out the settings for fear of messing up or crashing the game.

Versions below the GeForce RTX 4090, such as the GeForce RTX 4080 16GB and RTX 4080 12GB, can also run Overwatch 2 at high performance with 1440p resolution showing 370 and 300 frames per second respectively.

“System latency on GeForce RTX 40 series GPUs is 8 milliseconds and frame rates are over 500 FPS at 1440p,” Nvidia said in a blog post on Wednesday.

The launch of Overwatch 2 is aimed at DDoS attacks

On the same day that it officially arrived for all players, Overwatch 2 became the target of a Denial of Service (DDoS) attack. This resulted in players trying to enjoy the game standing in long queues and receiving numerous error messages.

Overwatch 2 director Aaron Keller said Blizzard worked through the night to fix the problem. However, all jobs were put in jeopardy when the company revealed a second wave of attacks that increased server instability.
