Microsoft says Elden Ring and GTA V on Xbox Cloud Gaming was just a bug

But the feature is still under development for this year’s release

Yesterday we revealed here that Xbox Cloud Gaming, Microsoft’s cloud gaming service, is expected to have games like Elden Ring and GTA V offered in the service. This will be unprecedented, as so far only games within Game Pass can be played in this way. It turns out that Microsoft told Eurogamer, That it was all just a bug.

In addition to the two games mentioned, Soul Hackers 2 will also be one of the titles that can be played in the cloud, according to a tweet on the subject. They speculated that it would be unveiled during Xbox’s showcase at Gamescom 2022, an event that takes place at the end of the month.

“We’re aware of a bug that incorrectly displays some titles available with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. We’ve already released a fix and it’s now up to date,” a Microsoft spokesperson told Eurogamer.

And indeed, the link posted yesterday no longer takes us to the Elden Ring page in Game Pass. When clicking on this link earlier that was posted on Twitter, we were taken to FromSoftware’s title page and it was even possible to click to start the game, but it would load and nothing would happen.

The feature is in Microsoft’s plans

Two months ago, Microsoft announced plans to make cloud games available directly from its library, without the game needing to be in the Game Pass Ultimate catalog.

“We’re excited to share that later this year, we intend to roll out the ability for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members to play select games they already own or purchase from the cloud outside of the Xbox Game Pass library,” said Will Tuttle. Editor-in-chief of the Xbox Wire website.

This opens up a lot of options for the player. While Xbox Cloud Gaming currently has over 300 games, there’s a chance that some of the games in your library aren’t included in the subscription service.

While Microsoft has released the feature, Microsoft has not provided any other information. According to him, we can expect the new function “at the end of this year”.
