Microsoft confirms delay in launch of Xbox Series X and S

Microsoft is working to streamline the timing of both the Xbox Series X and Series S launches. Some users of Xbox Insiders, a program that allows players to try out features before they reach the public, have noticed. After some questions on Twitter, Josh Munsey, the company’s director of integrated marketing, confirmed the news.

Currently, if you don’t leave the console in standby mode, it takes about 9 seconds between turning it on and opening the Xbox dashboard. A change Microsoft is working on aims to reduce that time to four seconds. There is definitely a big difference.

This was announced in response to a tweet from a member of the Xbox Insiders program. Josh Munsey noted the difference in his answer:

I can confirm – I worked with @harrisonhoffman and @jakerose27 to create a shorter launch animation (~4s) than the original (~9s), which helps reduce the overall launch time.

Since it is still part of the test wave, there is no word yet on when Microsoft will make this news available to the public. In my opinion, I always get worried when the load time or something like that goes down. Therefore, I consider this addition to be very welcome.

Discord is also coming to Xbox consoles

Another cool new addition that Xbox Insiders are already experiencing is the addition of Discord Voice on Xbox One and Series X|S. This way, users will be able to use the app directly from the console to chat through voice channels or group calls.

In other words, a person will install the app and use it to chat with members and friends on your server. It will be possible to check who is speaking and control the volume, as in the batch option already available on the console. That is, the integration will be total.

Finally, when the company officially releases the feature, players will be able to enjoy the feature directly through the “Parties and Chat” tab. It is important to remember that you must link your Discord account to your Xbox account.

Overall, this addition will be very interesting for users, especially those who enjoy online gaming. That’s because chatting and creating groups is an important part of the whole experience.
