Luna Abyss is a cross-platform bullet-hell FPS coming ‘soon’

The indie game is new from a British studio

Developed by British debutantes Bonsai Collective and announced today, Luna Abyss is An indie FPS that promises mind-blowing moments with “intense and fast-paced bullet hell”, facing “a vast uninhabited colony deep within a terrifying simulacrum of the moon.” The game, which is coming “soon,” will be released for PC and PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

Luna Abyss tells the story of a prisoner sentenced to “explore an uninhabited megastructure that lies beneath the surface of Luna, a simulacrum of the moon.” The main mission of the hero is to find forgotten technologies on the ground.

Welcome to the abyss – Don’t be afraid, traveler. You just have to go further, deeper to see better. A sleeping silent creature waits with a deep breath. We just need the key. We just need you.

A buried secret – Unravel the mysteries of the moon simulacrum and the chasm deep within it. See the ruins of the colony up close and find your place in this hopeless world. Discover the secrets that the abyss holds.

Explore abandoned structures – Run, jump and run chest-open across the vast expanses of this huge alien megastructure. Journey into the depths of Luna and experience a unique first-person platformer.

Bullet hell – Try to free him alive from violent encounters with corrupt spirits and unformed cosmic horrors. Learn to control your weapons and make split-second decisions in this explosive, fast-paced bullet-hell game.”

Because it’s hell, wait moments before a lot of projectiles. For those of you who don’t know what this subgenre is, bullet-hell is a game where the confrontation takes place with endless shots against the player, often hard to avoid, like Returnal on PS5.

The new Doom mod adds fully 3D monsters and weapons

The Luna Abyss trailer and screenshots suggest that the game should use lighting effects via ray tracing, although this is not specified on the game’s Steam page, nor is the recommended hardware supported.
