When buying a gaming computer, you can choose between a desktop or a notebook. Or you can switch to a laptop. This is a suggestion GPD Win 4. PSP-like in appearance, the novelty has an AMD Ryzen 7 6800U chip, SSD up to 2 TB and Windows (probably version 11).
Although Windows was not designed for handheld consoles, the idea is quite interesting. This is because there are tons of games for the platform, not to mention that you can use the device to watch videos, browse the web, and other activities.
AMD chip and 6 inch screen
For this, GPD Win 4 comes with a 6-inch screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 16:9. GPD just didn’t say what the panel technology is. But I’d bet on IPS LCD since that type appears on models like the GPD XP Plus.

But despite these features, we are still talking about a computer. That’s why GPD Win 4 has a built-in keyboard that appears when you hover over the screen.
Inside, the device is equipped with a Ryzen 7 6800U chip. The GPU is a Radeon 680M integrated into the processor. This means that the graphics performance here is not the most advanced, unless you connect an external GPU (eGPU) device.
With an external GPU or not, you can expect some stock gaming, especially since GPD has been generous with other hardware elements. Among them is 16 GB or 32 GB of LPDDR5 memory. Additionally, you can choose between a 1TB or 2TB NVMe SSD.
Other features include Wi-Fi (version unknown), 4G, a USB-C port, and a circle on the right that doubles as a mouse. You can also see from the images that the GPD Win 4 has front-facing speakers and a memory card slot.
GPD Win 4: when and how much?
While not revealing an exact date, GPD has promised that the laptop will go on sale in October in black and white. By then, more details about the equipment’s hardware should be revealed. Prices are not yet known.
