Romero Games leases new IP

John Romero, responsible for the industry’s most iconic FPS, now announces it Working on a new IP and hiring to produce this new game. The title will also be an FPS and will be made in Unreal Engine 5. The game is produced by Romero Games and will be published by “Main Publisher”.

When it comes to Romero, you can’t imagine a game coming out of what he helped popularize in the industry with games like Doom and Wolfenstein. “It’s a new dawn for Romero Games. We’re working with a major publisher to create John Romero’s next shooter,” says Romero Games on Twitter.

The new shooter will be original

The new IP will be an “all new original FPS”. “Our team is expanding, and we’re looking for talented people in all positions and experience levels, especially those with Unreal Engine 5 experience,” the statement said.

The open positions, according to the official website, are for various programming positions such as multiplayer and graphics programmer, general designer and level designer, among others, and four different jobs for artists.

The studio is basically assembling a team from scratch to produce this new IP, and the jobs website says more jobs will be posted soon. The studio’s office is in Ireland, but contract developers can work remotely from anywhere.

Romero Games was founded in 2015 by John and his wife Brenda. He is one of the big names in the industry and was the co-founder of ID Software, responsible for games other than Doom, Rage, Quake, Wolfenstein franchises and many more.

According to the studio’s website, members have expertise in titles such as Far Cry, Watch Dogs, Forza, Sniper Elite VR, The Division 1 and 2, Crysis “and many more,” in addition to the ID Software franchise.
