“007: Golden Eye” and other Nintendo 64 games

During the broadcast, new titles were unveiled for Nintendo Switch Online, the company’s subscription service that lets you play online and features classic SNES, Mega Drive and Nintendo 64 games.

The most important was the teaser of “007: Golden Eye”, one of the most popular Nintendo 64 games, which had excellent graphics in its time (1997). Prior to this announcement, other classic console titles were announced for Switch Online:

“Bayonetta 3”

Ahead of its release, Bayonetta 3 has released a new (and long) trailer featuring protagonist Umbra’s fight scenes with several enemies. Details about the game modes and gameplay are also given in the trailer.

“Pikmin 4”

A teaser for “Pikmin 4” was also released. The last game in the franchise was “Pikmin 3”, which was released in 2013 for the Wii U and was remastered in 2017. “Pikmin 4” is scheduled for 2023.

“Fire Emblem Engaged”

Fans of “Fiery Emblem” can rejoice. The new title in the franchise, “Fire Emblem Engage”, announced in the Direct, promises a story with new characters that players will be able to customize and refine their battle strategies.

“Fire Emblem Engage” is scheduled for release on January 20, 2023.

“Octopus Voyager II”

This sequel takes place in the world of Solistia, with eight new travelers. The game brings changes to the HD-2D graphics of the series, which will have a mix of retro pixel art with 3D. The game is scheduled to be released on February 24, 2023.

Nintendo Switch Sports

At the launch, it was announced that golf would be the newest sport at the game. Up to eight players can play together in Survival Golf mode. Nintendo Switch Sports is available now on the Nintendo Store, but no release date has been set for an update that adds golf to the game.

“Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe”

It is a remake of an adventure game that was released in 2013 for the Wii. In “Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe” it will be possible to play with up to four players at the same time and share the Joy-Con. The game is scheduled to be released on February 24, 2023.

“Sifu”

The kung fu fighting game, so far exclusive to Playstation and PC, will be available for Switch on November 8th.

“Resident Evil” through the cloud

In total, four new titles from the “Resident Evil” franchise have been announced for the Switch, all via the Cloud, meaning they can only be played via streaming. The package includes the latest games in the franchise: Resident Evil 2, 3, 7 and Village.

“Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope”

Closer to the release scheduled for October 20th, “Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope”

The strategy game is a crossover between characters from the Mario franchise with Rabbids, a Ubisoft saga, and follows the “Battle Royale” that was released in 2017 for the Switch.
