EA Sports reveals the definitive soundtrack for 25 years of the FIFA franchise

EA Sports invited fans to choose the ultimate soundtrack for the 25th anniversary of the FIFA franchise and revealed the result this Monday in partnership with Spotify. Fans could vote by playing their favorite song and posting it on social media with the hashtag #UltimateFIFASoundtrack. The list features some classics since the FIFA series got its soundtrack in 1998 and evokes incredible nostalgia for those who lived at least part of that history.

The ultimate soundtrack features 100 songs from FIFA titles from the past 25 years. Of the top 100 songs released on Spotify, the 40 most played songs will return to the game in FIFA 23 this Wednesday, November 9, for the launch of the FIFA World Cup update.

The final list features some songs that are classics for FIFA players, and not just for them: they’re classics from that moment in history, like “Song 2” by Blur or “Rockafeller Skank” by Fatboy Slim. Brazil has several representatives in the final list: “Sorte Grande” by Yvette Sangalo, “Efêmera” by Tulipa Ruiz, “Levanta e Anda” by Emicida with Rael and “Malemolência” by Céu. There’s also “Já Sei Namorar” by Tribalistas, which for some reason doesn’t show up in the Spotify playlist, but is in the list that goes into the game update. The final list also features the Strokes, The Black Keys, Massive Attack, The Vaccines, Kasabian, DJ Avicii, Billie Eilish and more.
