EA’s announcement followed several speculations and rumors about the addition of content from the Apple TV+ series to “FIFA 23.” The rumors grew after images of a fictional team coached by Ted Lasso at AFC Richmond appeared on the game’s ratings database.

A post on Twitter last Tuesday (20) also practically confirmed Ted Lasso’s appearance in the football simulator. The report showed an image of actor Jason Sudeikis in a motion capture device.

“We are delighted to announce that EA SPORTS has brought Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond to FIFA 23. Fans will be able to take authentic control of their favorite club through multiple game modes, including career mode, quick match, online friends and online seasons,” EA said in a press release.

With this, Ted Lasso can be selected as a coach in FIFA 23’s career mode. In addition, AFC Richmond will be included as a playing club and will also integrate series key players such as Roy Kent, Jamie Tartt, Sam Obisania, Isaac McAdoo and Danny Rojas.
