Chris Pratt stars in an unusual remake of the Super Mario game made in Unreal Engine 5

As we know, Chris Pratt, who plays Star-Lord in the Marvel movies, will be voicing the character Super Mario in the upcoming animated film franchise, which will hit theaters in 2023.

So far, Nintendo hasn’t revealed a preview of the film or what the actor’s interpretation of the character looks like, despite confirming that the first trailer will be released on the 6th. Re-Imagined Games decided to create a concept for a Super Mario game. Realistic graphics with Pratt as a plumber.

We’ve already talked about some fan remakes of classic games based on Unreal Engine 5 here at TC, but the YouTube channel went further and decided to imagine what Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jack Black would look like. and Keegan-Michael Key, the voice actors for the animated Super Mario movie, were the stars of the franchise game.

Aside from the cartoony look, the concept envisioned by the channel uses not only a human protagonist, but also the most realistic textures from Mario in defeatable blocks, scenarios and creatures throughout the stage. Despite adopting the linear gameplay of the franchise, the player has more control over the camera, which makes it easier to navigate obstacles.

I’m making a realistic remake of Super Mario Brothers with Chris Pratt as Mario! This is an EPIC trailer for the first major update.

I’m a longtime Nintendo fan and I’m so excited for Illumination and Nintendo’s animated Super Mario movie! So I decided to do some kind of fan project while we wait for all the trailers. But then I started to wonder what Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jack Black and Keegan-Michael Key would be like if they were actually these characters in a realistic mushroom kingdom. It sounded like an incredibly fun idea, so I’m trying to make this game. With zero game development experience, I’m learning Unreal Engine from scratch and picking up any skills I can along the way to make this a legitimately awesome action game!

While it’s unlikely that Nintendo will decide to release a game like this one, it’s nice to see how the more realistic concept will be extended to the Super Mario games.

What did you think of this concept?
