Brazilian indie God-Machine is a roguelike cyberpunk with a metal sound

The title has a demo on Steam

Robots, cyberpunk, heavy metal and roguelikes are the ingredients of the Brazilian game God-Machine developed by MNSTR Studio. The game features an isometric view as you, a robot samurai, advance on enemies performing melee and fire attacks in arenas that change as you progress.

The standalone title will be released on Steam, no date has yet been announced, and a demo is available. The stages of the game are arenas in which different waves of enemies come. From the demo (which I tested), between each wave, the arena clears everyone in it and you can escape by going to the right place.

Protagonist Kanshi has a skill tree that can grow between each wave. According to the game’s description on Steam, swords, clubs, and spears will be usable, while submachine guns, flamethrowers, and rocket launchers are some of the options.

During BIG Festival 2022, an event held in early July in São Paulo, God-Machine was among the nominees for the best game in Brazil along with Wolfstride and Dodgeball Academia, among many others.

The title joins a growing list of games developed in Brazil. Creative games like Dodgeball Academia, A Lenda do Hérói, among others, and more challenging development games like Dolmen are part of Brazil’s list of independent titles.
