The Brazil Games Show, the largest gaming conference in Latin America, returns after three years this Thursday (6) at the Expo Center Norte in Sao Paulo. The opening day was reserved for the press and those who purchased a premium ticket that entitles them to all days.
Around 13:00, the public started arriving at the event. The first day had no bombastic guests or big attractions, even with a limited number of tickets.
However, from this Friday (7) to next Wednesday (12), thousands of influencers and representatives from major gaming companies will attend BGS, in addition to esports championships and cosplay competitions every day.
The public was excited to attend the first day, coming from all over Brazil, some of them dressed as their favorite characters and ready to walk the grounds of more than 75 square kilometers of exhibition space.
As cosplayer Renata Mello of Joinville, SC, dressed as Ahri, from the game League of Legends. “I’ve been cosplaying since 2011, I’m 31 years old. It’s my job and I travel all over Brazil. This is my first BGS, I’m excited,” she told. R7.
Prominent among the stands were shops with products for gamers and major game developers Nintendo and Playsation. Neither Microsoft nor Xbox attended the conference this year.
In stores you can find deals on things like headsets, controllers, chairs and other accessories – in addition to the already traditional t-shirts, action figures and, of course, games.
Nintendo’s booth brought the most news to fans. One of them is to start selling physical versions of Nintendo Switch games in Brazil, without imports, from the end of the year.
Another unprecedented attraction was an exclusive game for the company’s next major release, in partnership with Ubisoft, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hopewhich arrives at the Nintendo Virtual Store on the 20th.
