4 EA games will have closed servers in November

The four Command & Conquer titles will no longer have multiplayer support

One of the largest companies in the gaming industry, Electronic Arts will shut down the online servers of four older titles that are part of its catalog, according to Gamespot. According to the site, players will have until November 9 to take advantage of multiplayer for the respective games.

It is already known that the four titles that will have their online servers shut down are Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars and its Kane’s Wrath expansion. Apart from these two, Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 and Mercenaries 2: World in Flames will also lose multiplayer.

However, it is important to remember that shutting down the online servers of the aforementioned games will only affect the multiplayer mode of the titles. This means they will still be available to play in single player mode.

Despite the detection of online server activity shutdown, Gamespot will not considerHe explained why Electronic Arts made the decision. However, it is possible to imagine that the long period after launch is one of the main factors.

That’s because the games were released in 2007 and 2008, giving the community 15 years of online support to date. In general, companies choose to shut down multiplayer servers much earlier than Electronic Arts decided to do Command & Conquer.

Success transcends generations

Still available in Electronic Arts stores, Command & Conquer is also part of the Xbox catalog where it can be downloaded by all players. In 2018, the first version for mobile devices was released, which was followed by the title Command & Conquer: Rivals.
